At Full Cup Kennels I spend long, hard hours of thoughtful work with your bird dog.  I live & train here at the kennel. This is my sole vocation. My personal hunting
dogs, have been AKC Master Hunters, and NAVHDA (North American Versatile Hunting Dog Association) Utility Prize I dogs. Although I specialize in POINTING BREEDS, I have worked extensively with retrievers, including Field Trial wins & AKC Master National Titles.

WHAT DO I BRING TO THE POINTING BREEDS?  My area of stregnth lies in developing excellent retrieving skills; steadiness to wing & shot; and control (handling response) of the hunting dog in the field. The program I have developed is advanced in many ways, leading to early development in the young dog.  Our youngest BRITTANY for instance, passed two legs of his Master Hunter title before the age of one year. Developing ATTITUDE in a dog is always my first &
primary objective. A good attitude carrys a dog a long way in his training. A dogs life should be a joy to live! While its always nice to work with a dog from early training on, its not always possible. If you have a dog that has developed retrieving problems, or is breaking, or bumps birds, or is running too big: please bring him/her to me. We’ll take a look & see what’s going on & whether its a matter of force retrieving - steadying - or basic whoa training that is needed. Very often there’s a gaping hole that can be fixed & the owner doesn’t see it. Most dogs with the right work can be salvaged. Don’t give up! With very few exceptions, I usually have managed to find a way to work with the problem dog & turn things around.

HOW I TRAIN & WHAT I TRAIN FOR:
My program involves lots of *Hunting pattern *Foundational Whoa training * An awful lot of developing Natural Retrieving instincts * Force Retrieving * Backing * Collar conditioning * experience on birds, & of course: developing Style & Intensity on Point! Above all- a bird dog should look good! Your dog will put many miles on the check cord! Obedience plays a BIG part in my training program. A good dog is a stable dog. Dogs have to know what is expected of them, and they have to know how to do what is commanded of them.  My training is geared toward the true hunting dog that will have the core skills to test successfully in areas where steadiness and retrieving are required. AKC Hunt tests; field trial dogs that need to retrieve; NAVHDA dogs that test in both field and water are well suited to my type of training. The HUNTERS DOG - I’m happy to work with any dog, whether its short term or long term, just as long as we can see the kind of progress that makes the dogs life better & you the owner happy.  You might not need a dog that backs or is fully steady to wing & shot. We’ll work with whatever your needs & the dogs capabilities are. The main thing is that your dog works out for you in the field & that he has a happy home.

RATES are a flat rate of $600.00 per month plus birds: Payable on the 1st of the month. Handling fees at Hunt Tests are in addition.
